You can cut-and-paste the above link to a text file or e-mail if you'd like to share.

Check back once in awhile. There may be additional pages with more images until about October 9th. For those of you who have visited this site in other years, some of the photo themes will be familiar. That's how it is here - not much ever changes, which is part of the appeal.

Metolius River / Central Oregon

Chumming the Metolius Trout

For a few cents you can buy a handfull of fish snacks at the hatchery and they'll be right there for the treats.

On the Beach at Lincoln City - Brown Pelican Fly-by

There's a lot of wildlife in the area - birds especially.

The Common Ringed Plover

Black Cormorants

Kelp Tossed Up by the Surf

Imagine going for a swim and having this end up around your neck. It happens.

Sanderlings - Everyone's Favorite

Sanderlings nest and spend the summer in the Arctic, then migrate to South America for the winter. When seen here, they're just passing through.

Black Turnstone

Gray Whale

Whale watching takes a lot of patience and you never really see much although it's still entertaining. Once in awhile there is a dark lump visible just above the water for a few seconds or maybe a fin, like here. This is a telephoto snapshot taken from our balcony at a great distance. It's probably a lot more exciting if you go out in a noisy motorboat to chase and annoy them. Just bear in mind what happened to captain Ahab.
